Tall Gears

I'd like to do 50 in 5th, but my poly mounts and the general 1stgen properties of my truck refuse to allow it. It sounds like the trans is going to come up through the floorboard and rape me.

If you're running a well worn stick, it may be worth considering that it's gonna make some unholy noises if you get the rpms too low with the rear end gears.
 
I've been leaning toward the D71 for a few reasons.

The gearing is there without any modifications, I can still tow the whopping 6k I need to occasionally, it's a fairly straight forward swap and I have the option of the lockright if needed.

And I'm running an auto...soon to have a GV behind it. Then I'll spin it a little past 4000. Tires (speed ratings) then become the liming factor.
