A few months ago a chunk of rubber smacked one of the headlights on the car, somehow it broke one of the adjustment mounts internal to the assembly. Now I need new headlight assemblies, and since I'm replacing anyway..... :evil

I know the euro spec Jetta's were available with HIDs, any idea what years? Mine is an 02, I can do the aftermarket bulbs and ballasts, but I would prefer a headlight that was designed for HIDs to get the most out of them.

Definitely put them in projector housings designed for HID. I found my housings on ebay. Don't know what fits that year jetta.

The OEM HID housings are ridiculously expensive and hard to come by. They are sweet but were way out of my price range. I picked up a pair of factory 2nd Hella housings where the chrome reflector surface was messed up and some HID projectors. I can't seem to find all my pics of the project, but here's some I did find.

So you took the projectors and mounted them in the factory housings?

Yeah. You basically cut a round hole in the back of the stock reflector and epoxy in the projector bezel and it allows you to keep factory adjusters.
