we picked up some hp with a vacuum pump setup on 2 different gasser setups. We noticed with a larger stroke engine, thier is more windage created. A vacuum pump helps eliminate some of the windage. Although one down side is that piston ring tension other seals and gaskets need to be in presice spec so that it doesn't hurt more than it helps. The engine must also be completly sealed for this to work right too. With out a proper sealed engine, the vacuum pump would be just a waste of power from an extra pully driven accessory.
