I have a 98 12valve with 3k gsk 330hp injectors #10 stop plate I was wondering where to set timing?
 
16.5 - 17 I would not advise going any more advanced untill you got studs and o-rings
 
How high can you safely time a studded engine with a 20 over marine gasket?
 
Auto or 5 speed? That makes a bit of difference.
 
Smokem and CAHAMMER are right, 20* plus is pushing things on a stock head gasket. I am running 16.5* no poblems and it works out good, but 15* is probally a good start unless you plan on studing it!
 
I'm running 15.5* and really happy with it, but when more mods come I'll increase the timing.

i am running 6mm of plunger lift on my 912 pump. i think i may have to back that off a bit. i thought it had a bit more timming clatter than i normaly have. it figures out to be in the 21.5 range. it is a real push to have it that high on a 260k head gasket with stock bolts and 60 pounds of boost.
 
Yes it is head studded and o-ringed with a .090 total thickness head gasket Thanks for the advise.
