This is a bit long..

My good friend recently bought a 98.5 24v. While messing around with the sending unit after an AirDog install, he dropped the v-shaped rubber o-ring in the tank without realizing. So the day after, he was having trouble starting and while driving he said it felt like it was running out of fuel. We got to talking and discovered he dropped the o-ring in the tank. Before he got around to taking it out, it was having more trouble starting and staying running (would randomly shut down), but fuel supply pressure was good.No engine light so my gut feeling was that the o-ring was getting sucked around the pick-up tube. We happened to pull a few codes off and I want to hear what you guys think about this.
P0370 - Fuel injection pump speed/position sensor signal lost
P1691 - Fuel injection pump controller calibration code failure
and of course P1693

What is usually done when these codes appear? I don't have a troubleshooting guide or anything for these codes.
TIA - Wes

Update: I just talked to him and he said he drained the tank and got the o-ring out yesterday. Drove it to work and said everything ran fine but had a little trouble starting.
