Truck is a pooch!

My buddy has been looking at buying a duramax lately and has test drove two trucks both with manual transmissions in them. One is an 04-and the other an 05. Both seemed very weak in the power department. Are these things that soft stock or am i missing something? Stock Cummins felt like they would eat these things for lunch!

The six speeds are not known for great low end stock.
