No news of driver survived

Is that a Fedex freight truck?

As of right now I've been told he is but not 100% yet. Yeah that was the truck #. I'll be able to get a better look tonight. Unless it is a fatal then I don't go around those trucks...

The back of another truck and then another one rear ended him, that's all the info we ever got on it. Driver was out of pitt...it happened on 70w right around rt 56

Friend owns a big truck salvage yard. Said almost every FL or IH they get the cab is almost always ripped off. I think you slam the door to hard on a new FL and the cab will fall off. Small hits on an IH and the cab mounts break. Such junk.

Saw one last year with a t660, guy centered a 60" pondo. It cleaned out everything between the frame rails back to the fifth wheel and pushed the cab into the trailer. Driver was back in a truck in 2 weeks.

I have no administrative aspirations because of those kinds of situations. I'm not willing to choke on it to maintain positive word of mouth.

We had a guy come in asking about a re-rate. The truck was down on power. He leaves, comes back later asking about an overhead adjustment. I start the overhead and the wiring harnesses are crumbling in my hands. I verbally indicate about $1200 for the harnesses and overhead. Guy throws a fit, won't let us test drive the truck, insists I quoted him 800 out the door. He pays the bill, grumbling something about the price and taking his business elsewhere. He leaves, drives 30 miles, calls and says it won't even pull his log trailer.

Sometimes you are damned before you even get them in the door

We work within reason. If the customer is a good repeat guy and we see future potential going forward we aren't afraid to pull our pants down a little. If it is some azzhat that is clearly in the wrong and wants to throw a fit, I hang up the phone. I am willing to help ANYONE that has a problem and I work with everybody even if they are clearly in the wrong. Start a screaming match and it is the last time we speak about it. I don't do that chit. Adults talk about the options and come to an agreement. The guy could take the turbo fresh out of the box and drop it in a pile of dogchit, light it on fire, and use it as an anchor for 3 months and I will still show some pity, unless it turns into a screaming match the second we answer the phone.

Would it be able to live at 4-450hp? Been thinking.. something similar to the 4088 I got on my LMM would work nicely with extra 100ci..
362/68 or with a larger 74 turbine wheel

That may be a bit hot for it. It is an improvement over the stock unit but I don't know about adding 100+ horsepower to one. The stock HX40 is a 60/64 for reference.

At one of my previous jobs we had a loaded quad rear end a walmart truck that was dead stopped over the top of a hill in the middle of the road. The walmart drivers seat was ripped from the floor and he was killed when he was thrown into the bunk. The quad driver had to get the engine removed from his lap. Nobody survived. I don't tell people that story as though it is a good story. I tell that story to people who have no respect for the amount of force an 80k lb truck traveling 65mph has.

Started next re-build today. 6nz with a bum crank. I think i want to try a set of acert twins on it. Maybe with 58's and a 800 cam. Any thoughts? Ive run the 800 cam in a 40 pin before with good luck. But ive heard horror stories as well when used with smaller injectors
Thanks

Cam, 57's and good ecm tune. Leave the piston burning 58's in the box unless your using monotherm pistons. Acert twins are great on them, just need a strip of steel to mount them to the block.

If you have to buy a crank get an Acert crank and use the better rotating assembly.
