turbo swap

my buddy swapped the turbo on his 03. Will it fit on my 2000 dodge? Is it worth it? is it direct bolton or do i have to modify?

Ain't worth it. It's smaller than the one that's on your 6spd.

thats what i thought. what about on my 12 valve?

It's of similar size to an HY-35 Your 2000 and 95 have an hx-35 which is bigger.

The 2000 should be an HX also not the hy. Unless they did something weird for the 6spds that year. My 2000 auto came with an hx. But to the original point, its not worth it.

04.5+ is when the 3rd gen turbos got lungs. Same small hotside though, 9cm.

The hot side is what's gonna kill you in drive pressure and EGT's. You could have a 72mm compressor wheel but if it's flowing out of a little 9cm housing it's still gonna get hot as hades and have insane drive pressure.
