Hey guys I'm about the start biulding my truck up to about 750hp
My fuel plans are:
Flux 4's injectors- have
Airdog 165- have
Twin cp3- need

My question is to keep egts down, have great power, good spool up, and daily driver ; which turbo/ turbos should I go with

Option 1: s363/s478, 63/68/.91 t4 over 78/87/1.1 t6
Option 2: s363/s480, 63/68/.91 t4 over 80/87/1.1 t6
Option 3 (cheapest route): s363/s480, same. Over 80/96/1.32 t6
Option 4 run a single ???????

What is the best kit to run (I want to keep cost down if performance isn't hurt too bad)???

And what is tge benefit to each of my three options?

The 63/78 would be plenty of air for 700, but I don't think the 87 turbine wheel is good for a low pressure turbo. ED can do a 96 turbine wheel with a 1.10 housing and I think that is going to be your best option. From what Chris and I have discussed, he is not big on a 63/480 because of the compressor load put on the 63. Plus, for 750 an s480 is overkill.

Dan Vallance has a 63/475 and did like 896 with his 06 If I'm thinking right..

The S363 should be a solid choice (the .91 a/r housing isn't gated, so you'll likely want to run an external gate in order to mechanically tune the twins pressure ratios in), and the 78 or 80 would both be good options. But, as was already stated, the 87mm turbine wheel would be grossly undersized, especially for the S480.

Jose at Forced Inductions could set you up with their 92mm turbine wheel, and either a 1.10 or 1.25 A/R. That would probably be your best option.

how would a htt 62/71/13ss over an s480 spool

vs.

a s362 fmw/68/.83 gated t4 over a s480?

I ran the 62/71/13ss over 80/96/1.32 on the Interceptor..

Spooled fairly well for street driving.. That was before EFI for 06+ ... I mm sure it'd be better now with great tuning.

If i ran the 62/71/13ss over 80/96/1.32 now would the piping on the twin kit work with the s362 fmw/68/.83 gated t4, once i changed the exhaust housing?

I have a 63/68 .9 over a 76/96 1.1. Both are billet wheeled built by E.D. They are awesome!!! Spools great! they pushed my megacab into the 11's on 100hp injectors:)

Well the kit I was looking at sold so tomorrow I'm buying a 62fmw/68/.83 gated t4 over an s480/96/1.32. Unless there is a better route y'all think. Any advise

The gated .83 T4 version of the FMW 62 wouldn't be my first choice, simply because the internal gate only gates one volute of the turbo. It may be enough of a gate to divert the necessary exhaust energy to the primary charger, but if you are maintaining a divided system throughout the exhaust manifold and into the turbo (vs having an open adapter between the manifold and turbo), it will cause a drive pressure imbalance between the 3 cylinders that are being gated, and the three that aren't being gated (which will obviously cause a higher drive pressure on the cylinders without the gate).

Like I say, it may still work, but it's certainly not optimal.

If it were me, I'd go with the .83 non gated T4 housing, and run an external gate, either by using a wastegate adapter between the manifold and turbo, or fabbing wastegate plumbing directly off of the manifold itself. The latter option obviously requiring you to plumb in directly at the collecter area of the manifold in order to gate both sides of the division, or running 2 gates (1 on each side of the division).

get carl to give you some input, he has a pretty vast knowledge of all things turbo, and super charger. and his kits are some of the most complete and affordable. turbolvr is his username.

That secondary should get it lit fairly well and the big primary will be awesome!
(On Edit) the info above about the drive pressure for the other 3 cylinders would be a concern.. Good info there)

Did any of that info in the PM help that decision ?

I built a set of twins for my girlfriends truck. 60/68 .91T4 over a 80/96 1.32T6. Got about a weeks worth of testing and tuning into it before the trans gave up. But spool was amazing and the driveability was great. Truck is an 06 5.9.
