Vw carnage

I work as a tech at a vw dealership I was told by our qtm that the miss fueled cars are not gona be covered after jan 1. I think other hpfp issues will still be covered under your powertrain and ext warranty.

Thanks, what about cars that are beyond the mileage for the warranty? MANY TDI owners put a lot of miles on their cars and exceed the mileage of the VW warranty within the first or second year...

Do you as a VW tech recommend an extended warranty for CR TDI owners?

Also, do you know if there have been any improvements to the fuel system to prevent these expensive HPFP repairs. I'm sure you have seen ones that were not misfueled too...

The extended warranty is a good idea especially ill you know youll be over mileage before time expires.
As far as failures every one ive seen that has failed like this has been miss fueled. We have far more issues with the dpf and egr then the fuel system. Ive seen some failed auxiliary pumps that throw a p0087 low rail codes and rough starts and a few in tank pumps go out but for the most part the common rail cbea and cjaa motors hold up well

Nice to hear from someone who works on the regularly. Thanks!

Except for that 1st batch of bad turbo shafts the passats have had less issues then the jettas ive had one failed dpf and egr filter on one but not even a miss fueled passat yet

So bad shafts were determined to be the cause of the failures with the BV40s in the early B7 Passats?

Random not carnage related question well unless I go postal, does anyone have a stock set of injectors laying around.

I need them bad special with winter here.

I order a used set of PP out of Florida and they got lost in shipping and the guy wont give me my money back even thou they were insured. :(

for a 2000 Tom? I have quite a few injectors but no "sets", bring me some nozzles and I'll set them up. I'm just 40 minutes away from you.

Yea for my 2000 Golf. I'll order some PP520 up. Is it possible to bring the entire car there and just to them as I wait. Reason I ask is I dont have another vehicle in the citys anymore. Decide to leave the truck at the cabin.

I can make sure they come up before I come up there.

What are you thinking $$$ wise.

I really appericate it. I think these injectors are leaking down as they sit because the car cranks really slow the first few revs then picks up speed. Once it first starts it's very smokey and smells like unburnt diesel fuel.

How trustworthy is the helpline? Do you agree with them? What is wrong with the bearings they used, oil passages too small?

Helpline is direct from vw and I agree they all seem to snap shafts inside the bearing beyond that im guessing it seems like it doesnt oil correctly and the shaft snaps under load what's cool is they still run even with no boost
