What's fair?

Have a kid wanting to trade me hoods. I have a cowl hood on mine and his is just the plain OEM hood. He said trade, plus cash to me. How much is fair for me downgrading from something a bit different to stock? I'd probably just sell the stock one a bit later and buy an SRT-10 (which is what I was going to do anyway but my truck came with the cowl and I thought, "ehh, looks pretty good as it is")

kid wants my cowl hood, how much cash plus stock hood is fair trade? We have the same color truck so no paint necessary

I'd say the difference between the price you can sell the stock and the SRT-10 plus Paint would be good?

That's what i'm thinking, but I haven't heard of what people are getting for good used hoods. I have 0 referrence on prices for this stuff other than the $700+ for the new viper hood. Anybody sold a hood recently? What'd you ask for it?
