What's the final verdict on nitrogen in tires?

I haven't heard or thought much about this subject as of late until an employee mentioned it today. I told him if I determined it worked I'd order extra cylinders on our order next week (we use nitrogen in activators to as a blanket between the activator and the ambient air which is full of water aka potential problems).

Is Nitrogen all its cracked up to be in street tires or not?
