I have a FICM to try out and was wondering what's the best way to remove the old one and swap in the new one?
Any install tips? What needs to be removed to get at it?

Air filter tubes all the way to turbo. Coolant reservior (2 8mm and 3 hose clamps) 10mm on ficm or 8mm on ficm. Deppending on year. 3 connectors under ficm. Don't break them or you are not gonna be happy.

Are the connectors easy to break? Is it common to brake the connectors when removing the FICM?

save you some time and dont remove the degas bottle. Just move it to the side. Its a little tricky but will save you from losing any coolant.

I assume that means a new harness Doug?

Yeah but they are individualized. If you need an injector harness. You get an injector harness.
