P-pumped Duramax?

a stock duramax block casting will hold 2500 hp??

or am I missing something?
 
that tractor was pretty sweet. The first pull didnt go well but it just needed dialed in.
 
Very interesting, what kind of pressure does this pump supply to the injectors? If you manage to get the hp you are stating that would be something for a stock dmax block for sure. Congratulations and I looking forward to watching you progress. Would have loved to see it at TS, but maybe I get a chance at another event. Thanks for sharing.
 
The rules state that our engines can be no larger than 460 cubic engines, and the block must be from a 1 ton or less pickup truck or a dimensionally identical aftermarket replacement. It has to accept and swing a stock crank.
We are at this time planning on using stock block and head castings.

Yeah I knew about the blocks and needing to be identical how everyone is switching to Billets. I thought it had to have a stock crank though. If it needs to just accept one then your straight. Ben Miller ought to be able to get a custom crank try to squeeze a few more inches out of it.
 
I think the idea is that the high rpms will allow less cylinder pressure and keep the engine together. I know that Banks isn't running a ton of cylinder pressure, they're just turning 5,500. At 7K keeping the crank stable will be a problem, but it looks like Chris has addressed that as well as he can with the stock stuff. Don't know about a Dmax staying together at 2500 hp, but I know of one that has made c.1,700 at the crank and kept it in one piece.

I think Bens engine is right at the limits as it is. It is better to go with bigger bore first in most cases to facilitate bigger valves.

Three. Plumbing on this truck will be a nightmare, like ten pounds of crap in a five pound bag.

What kind of boost and drive pressure are you looking to make, and also still curious about the pressure one of these pumps puts out the the injectors? Thanks for the info.

im guessing 150-175 psi of boost. now drive pressure, i would love to know too!!
