I looked at a lot of other peoples mounts and surprisingly there are a lot made that way out of 3/16 plate. I kept it as close to center as possible since I still have to fit the gear box in beside the mount. I used 1/4" plate and it is gusseted on top and bottom. nothing moved when I put the full weight of the motor on the mount. I looked at pages and pages of pics of the way people mounted their 4b and this angle was used a lot. surprisingly some even mounted by only the front of the block and at the tail of the trans putting a lot of strain on the bell housing and bolts.
starting rough assembly. front disc brakes are in, fuel tk mounted, rear brake line is done, shocks installed, new king pins, tie rod, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, hubs, ps gear box is mounted chassis has 3 coats of por15 paint on it. waiting on the pistons and rods to come back from mumau, then I will set the motor and trans.
thanks jeff!
