You will always make more PEAK power when you run a turbo as a single, but compound arrangement will have a much wider USABLE power band. If you can spool the GT55, and keep it lit, run it as a single to pull it. I don’t have any experience to know how that will go. If you were gonna work the truck, you absolutely would want to run it as a compound arrangement. Even sled pulling it you might want to just for the fact thet you won’t have to worry about getting and keeping the single 55 lit.
Notice the manifold has an adapter between it and the turbo.
I do now. Was looking for this but somehow overlooked the one photo that shows it.
Creation of yours?
Nope, though I have worked with the guy that makes it to make them better, I dont think that design will be sold though.

I recall seeing your set up and rework of something similar. Just don't remember and cant find where it was.
Any guesses on how much psi is too much? Right now I have rpm's cut short of what I want but I fear I am already pushing this turbo pretty hard?
Yes there was a lot of work to be done.
So you're using the older style pulse manifold? Isn't that the one you told me Wouldn't work well?
I am using the industrial style manifold, it is different than what we talked about, I could not use a pulse because I do not have the clearance for the turbo to be mounted like yours.
Ahh. Just looking at the ports they seem to be much bigger than what I currently have.
They are because of the amount of time I spend on that manifold and adapter.
Just by looking at the pictures I don't think the manifold I am using even has enough material to grind to that size.
Would it be better for me to use the 10 blade sdp turbo? Is it also a stub shaft?
The 1.12 housing I bought turned out to be pretty corroded and the seller didn't think it would seal well to the center section. I am currently working with him to just send me an internally gated 1.18. With the gate I should be able to turn more rpm? Or with this housing being divided will it still be over speeding?
