03 5 speed what tranny

just bought a 03 cr & it has a 5speed is this the 4600 or a 5600 with a 5 instead of a 6.thanks shane
 
NV4500 if you only have 5 gears, NV5600 if you can shift it six times.
 
only 5 did not know 03 came with them till i bought it thanks.:thankyou2:
 
Have to be an early 03 IIRC, they did away with the SO and HO versions at the end of the 03 model year.
 
is the 4600 any better than the 5600.will it take more power without a new clutch or are they about the same.
 
The 4500 is a touch weaker shaft and bearing wise, mainly the input shaft. On clutches the stock unit in the 5 speed seems to be better. How the clutch holds up will depend a lot on your driving style.
 
is b&d the only one that makes a short shift kit for these or are there others.:thankyou2:
 
I don't know who else makes one, but www.genosgarage.com has them, dunno if it's a B&D or not. Put up a post in the vendors section or give Mark Craig a call and see if he has one.


BTW, they are nice, had one on the goat for about two years now :rockwoot:
