06 cummins bad fuel mileage

my dads got a 06 5.9 cummins with an edge juicer programer and cold air intake and it still gets terrible fuel mileage like mid teens, is there anything we could to to get it to the 20s? wer were thinkin exhaust but i wanted to check first any help/ideas would help:nail:

Mid teens isn't horrible with what tuning you have. A good EFI live tune would help more than anything.

mid-teens is not exactly horrible fuel mileage. If the truck is a dually then it is about right really. Custom Tuning can help soak some out of it, but getting the 20's on average may be a bit hard depending on your driving habits.

its not a dually and it gets driven easy.

Lower the front, get smaller tires, Air dog or FASS, Low stall converter, Drive like a grandpa!

Your only going to see 20+ on the freeway for long distances! In Town mid teens is great!

You already have 4" exhaust from the factory. You could straight pipe it but I dont think it would help any.
