So my dads had a string of bad luck lately.. His '97 had an injector fail, so he brought his '06 with a trailer to get it.. all loaded up and he's headed home and his '06 just up and quits.. No restart.. It cranked faster than usual so i figured it was HPO related.. So i got in my truck and towed my dad (his '06 with trailer and '97) back to his place of works yard (maybe 2 miles) then towed the truck another maybe 5 miles to a friends place to have him work on it.. After i towed it there i was told that this can do damage to the Tranny? I was once told by a Ford tech to put the truck tranny and T-case in neutral and i'll be ok.. done this for hundreds of miles on a Manual tranny truck without issues is this not true for a auto truck?
