1000hp Engine Buildup.

hard

what side of the t-stat is the heater hose they suggest you tie into on?

Have you done one Don?

I have been looking at the kit also. I have my trans out right now, and was looking at the freeze plug today. I think the hardest part would be getting the old freeze plug out.

Their was another thread on CF about this earlier, apparently its not too bad to do with the transmission out. but definitely not a 5min job.

Then again i guess it all depends on where/how your doing it. If the truck is up on a hoist it will obviously be much easier than doing it while laying in the gravel driveway!

hey gs 1000 if you dont mind me asking what pistons are you using

gonna go out on a limb here but i am guessin he is using the pistons smith diesel got for him

lol

just kiddin

no tony, i have not

but i have seen that pic before...the one where the guy removed the entire body so he could get to it...

i think it is safe to say that unless the motor is on a stand it is a royal pain in the ass

ps - you get em out by knocking one side of em in. usually when you do tht the other side pops out and you just pry it right out. 10% of the time the whole thing falls into the water jacket and although it bugs me to no end to have it in there it really does no harm

Only thing i see wrong with that, that poppet valve is only adjustable down to 50psi, im thinking you would blow all the other plugs out before that popped off!

Definitely another good way to do it though. but i think that a constant flow would be better for the cooling (like mentioned in the cummins part description), the constant flow out that back plug will help to keep #6 temps town.

Maybe experiment with different size orifices in the line?
