1100 hp from a 6.7???

Three problems with the claim 1100 HP and 1750 TQ
1. At 1100 HP, the 6.7 rods fail due to the roughly 2500-3000+ ft lb of torque

is the 6.7's hp/tq ratio really that high? That's 12 valve-ish.....Heck I haven't seen any Common Rail do much better than 1:2 most seem to be below that.
 
My guess if it is Banks and its 1000hp they got there just like they did with the D-max, water, propane and enough :nos: to make Dennis cry.... and that takes alot.
 
I thought the 6.7 and the 5.9 shared the same rods? It was my impression the 6.7 was nothing more than a bored and stroked 5.9. Is that true?

If it were, I could see why the rods failed. I don't think Cummins planned on that much expansion.

if i ever gotta tear my motor down im definatly going to be putting a 6.7 based block back in my truck, no reason to spend the money on redoing a 5.9 IMO
 
The Smarty isn't going to get 1100 HP from a stock motor. No other programmer will either. At least with the stock programs. Best you'll see is 570 as the two tuners are saying they are or will be doing

So where else can you make up that 500 HP?

But you're right about the trans. My trans chatters when programmed to +120.

injectors, nitrous, air, you name it. will never get 1000hp with out those supporting mods so you have to decide what you want to do with the truck and their are appropriate mods to make the goals happen.

Those mods you'll never see me doing. Too old for that crap now. My smokin and steamin days are over. I'm happy with what I have at 470 HP. Even that's too much for the 68RFE. . . . .
 
haha, I had some hickerbilly kid in a 97 p-joke pull up next to me and say he ran 9's........ I would believe that kid before I would believe Banks had a 1100hp 6.7, lmfao

anything is possible with a standalone ecm. possibilities are endless. could do it with a single program such as efi live .

I had a conversation with a guy the other day who told me he had an 08 Mega that he had sent to Banks and put 20k into the motor and tranny and that he put down over 1100hp and 1750tq. I know there are strong 6.7s out there but I have yet to hear of one that is putting down those kinds of #s. So what y'all think?
Was this fella smoking something or what? He came across as honest or maybe just naive. Heck, maybe I'm the naive one.

Sounds like someones Dual VP story with all the other goodies on it. No way in hell man. I think some one got you on that deal just like the dual VP set up.:hehe:
