I cleaned mine really really well then applied the green loctite to the shaft/gear slid it on and torqued to 175 ft/ lb



Ive heard of people going up to 200ftlb

Yeah I've heard of people going up that high.. But I've also heard of people pulling the threads off the pump shaft going that high... Expensive problem there.

as stated before whatever floats your boat ... an open flame+ me+ oil pan = not good

ps - i am sure we both agree that its about having the right tools

if you check with blue point they sell a small kit that works for soldering, heat shrink, and even stuff like this, applying direct heat to a nut

Fastest evaporating cleaner I have come across, and it will take just about anything off, except for maybe hylomar. Brake clean or acetone is better.
