12v crank in common rail

12v crank in common rail... does anything need to be changed or will it be a direct swap

Crank gear will have to be swapped for sure off the top of my head.

One the first questions I asked on this site was on this subject.

5.9 crank is a 5.9 crank, no matter what application it came from. The front gear will need to be changed.

Only one that ya can't do is a 12v or CR into a VP with the tone ring on the crank

Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.

Yes 98ish to 2000 ish had a tone ring on the crank.
