12v Electric Fans?

I'll just throw this out there.. I've run electric fans on 12 valves and CR's. On the CR, I did a before and after test at the drag strip. There was absolutely no difference in MPH at all. I actually regretted doing it, since performance was the same. On hot summer days in traffic, the stock fan kept it cooler. The electric fans worked, but not as well. I'd just like people to know this before they spend their money hoping for some type of gain. I also checked fuel mileage, and there was no difference. I was running two large fans.. I also made passes with the fans off and on.. Still no difference..

So was there a noticeable difference on the 12v?

the only reason i want electric fans is becuase right now i have no fan, mine got bent some how, was hitting the radiator i straightened it so i thought and i destroyed another radiator, so now on my 3rd radiator i don't want to destroy this one, i bought a new fan blade, and now have to buy the clutch which is 140 something dollars from dodge. and i figure electric fans aren't much more, and the only reason i need a fan is because the coolant will hit 210 if im in traffic, and over heat if im just sitting still for 20mins, and im sure i'll be stuck in traffic somewhere on my way out to numidia in a few weeks and i don't want any issues, all not looking to spend 500 dollars on e-fans either, i have some budget sort of.

You can get a new Hayden fan clutch from Oreillys/Murrays for $56.00
Ive been running one for 2 years now with no problems. I also pull my 12k camper around without overheating.

Well made my first hook with the Derale 4000CFM fans tonight,
got to the end of the track and it was at about 200-210

Im happy with them!!!

I only used one thermostat so if anyone needs one...its for sale.

I don't have either of those near me, do they have a website?

Why do you need a themostst on a pulling truck? I just hard wired mine to a switch in the cab.

How hard is it to remove the fan?

I m thinking of removing it. I dont pull anything, just 5-10 min trips around town in stop in go traffic.

Thoughts on no fan for light driving?
