131, 191, 024 test stand comparison

I've tested many sets in the same truck, same setup. I am not as concerned about power, but overall smoothness and driveability. I'm working with a company on nozzles and delivery valves now.

Weston, thought you had told me that 24s have the .024" shoulder, but these have about a .033" shoulder and are 24s?

I've had delivery valves machined to 0.020", 0.022", and 0.024", the differences between the 191's, 022's, and 024's are many. Flute differences, pintle differences in depth and count, lead in taper, and shoulder height.

I ended up doing back to back Dyno runs with the 191's and 024's. I picked up 15hp, and according to the recall on my x monitor picked up 2.5 psi boost and 75*cooler egt's by going to the 024's

For an off the shelf dv, I dont think 191's can be beat in power vers temp's vers smoke etc... Ive made super power with them and temps are much better than a fc. With only a .030" shoulder, dual cut pintles, and nice long flutes they deliver a great amount of fuel and not jack up the duration like a shoulderless neddle. I'm excited to try a totally diff. dv that weston cut for me, I think they will work well. It's a thinking outside the box design that I liked and going to be giving them a try. But for a drop in dv, it would be hard to beat a 191 for any application IMO.

I just got some 024's put in my pickup. Like them very well so far. Need turbos now to make my full potential.

Are your new dv's for only smoothness and drivability or to give significant gains in power too?

this is what he told me, I believe they are the same ones he mentioned here.

"Good hp, smooth, 7mm diameter. No collar, no flute. They are from a P3000."
