I've talked to a few different people and heard different things, then read just about everything I could find and I'm still not sure what to think. It seems some guys eat through pump cams with smaller lines and stock DV holders while others daily trucks for years with no issues. I'd appreciate some first hand feedback on the subject. Is there a minimum recommended line size for a 13mm pump? Does it depend on how the truck is used? Will larger lines make life easier on the pump? Should the injector body and connector tubes be opened up? Are opened DV holders necessary?

I don't use my truck as a daily anymore but it does see street time, probably a few thousand miles a year. I let the truck shift around 4000 rpms at wot. The current fuel setup is below, feel free to comment on what you think will and wont work long term.

13mm pump, 903 cam, 255 DV holders, 035 DVs, 5k gov springs
stock body 6x.013 injectors with another .020 needle lift
stock sized crossover tubes with edge filters removed
.084 injector lines
Fuelab 42401 lift pump at ~75psi with -10 line into -8 dual feed

Kevin at northeast diesel said that open billet holders where an absolute necessity. Stock lines, regular delivery valves and smaller injectors would be fine. I've been running my pump from him with stock lines and at one time as small as 5/18 injectors for the last 6yrs with no issues. My pump is on the mild side for a 13mm with the stock type Bosch cam.

The factory holder has a valve that opens internally, and they flowed more than a billet 0.093" holder did back to back.

For what it’s worth, I have a mild 13mm pump I run (factory 215 cam) with stock lines and 5x.020 injectors. 8mm comp cut DV’s from PDD. The pump hasn’t been to anyone to verify if it wearing out faster than normal. However it runs great and makes daily driving a big single, or big compounds fun.

On a 12v, most pump builders recommend 093" lines vs factory 078" lines for a 13mm pump. That said, it seems with a factory Bosch 903 cam, the injection rate is just slow enough that factory lines don't cause issues in the short term. Long term like 100k miles is something that I've never seen nor heard tested. 100k miles with a 13mm would put quite a bit of wear and tear on the driver though....
