15w40 or 20w50

I can find the standard thread 209-512561 filter for $155, but I can't find a price for 209-616 which is the 1"-16 thread for our trucks... What's the price?

Okay I am leaning toward the Brad Pen 20w50 or the striaght 50w and the Oberg filter, which filter would you guy's recomend I go with the 6001b(60 micron) or 6002b(115 micron) with the heavier wieght oil? I don't want to restrict oil flow and have pressure issues. keep the spin on filter? place this after the spin on?

Thanks,

BBD

I recived this from Oberg:

There are a couple of different options you have here.

First of all, if you all ready have remote spin on filters for actual engine filtration and you just want the Oberg for diagnostic purposes, I would recommend our 115 micron screen which would be in the 6002B. Run this before your spin-on filters and you will be able to see everything of concern that is coming out of your engine.

Secondly, If you are looking to replace the entire set up with just one filter, I would recommend stepping up to our 8001B. The 8001B has twice the surface area of the 6” filter and the 60 absolute micron filter will filter down 5 to 8 micron and protect your engine while also offering the diagnostics.

If you have any other questions or if there is anything I can help you with please feel free to contact me at your leisure.

I will be adding the 115 micron screen before the spin on filter and going with the BradPen 20w-50 at $4.99 a quart.

Heard that. Did you find the spin on filter from system one that is a direct screw on to the cummins, that can be taken apart and looked at?

No I didn't, I have a decent spin on filter system that WPE installed, of course I had to anodize it though :)

Thats kinda neat. Wonder if you can see the particles when you clean it?

i just got a price the other day from cen-peco and it ended up being under $15/gallon in a 55 gal drum.less than others?

I just got a price for Brad Penn today.

20w50 - 11.41 a gallon in 55 gallon drum

15w40 - 10.11 a gallan in 55 gallon drum

I dont know if it is cheaper cuz i live in PA.

Thanks Matt

do they make strait 40 or 50? whats the difference between a cen-peco and this brad penn and i have also heard the shaffers 40 or 50 moly is good **** as well.can anyone break down the differences between?also does anyone know if any of these guys offer a fuel additive besides cen-peco.if there are any reps for any of these piease p.m. me for pricing and availibility.i would like to know the major pros and cons of this stuff.

Question for the oil guru's, currently I use the 20w50 and change my oil after every hook. what would I be loosing if I went to a 15w40 and still changed the oil after every hook. Any advantages and or disadvantges for runing it down the track once?

Thanks,

BBD

Switching from 20W-50 to 15W-40 might result in slightly thinner oil at high temperatures, potentially offering less protection under extreme heat and pressure. However, if you’re changing the oil after every run, the difference may be minimal for a single pass down the track. The advantage of 15W-40 could be better cold start performance, but 20W-50 is generally more suited for high-stress conditions. Just like using the correct "i-shift transmission oil" is crucial for transmission performance, ensuring you have the right engine oil for your specific needs is important for optimal protection.

Well stated. Now lets play the game of bot or not...
