2.6 vs 2.8 turbo size

maybe if we got some real altered trucks like benninger back the diesels wouldnt dominat. *bdh*

Everyone thinks that its so easy to pull at that weight but until you do, you have no idea on how hard it is to put it to the ground. With the diesels, it is harded to use the torque without blowing off the tires. I love when people talk about turbos and bushings but really have no idea what they are talking about... just my too cents

Thanks for the help, just looking for some outside opinions on what would be a good way to make things more even without anyone having to spend alot of money.

is this perkins?

why dont you man up and tell us who you are! and quit going around the point you are trying to make. also, please tell the whole story.

for the last, oh, 4 years, this class was dominated by a single gasser. that guy chose not to run anymore. this was the first year a diesel won points ever. the guy that won the points would of won by a blow out, but 2 strong running gasser(who are rookies to the class) came on super strong at the end of the year. they(the gassers) took some time to figure things out, but when the did they came on strong. but it was just too late in the year.

when it comes down to it, at 6500lbs does it really make that much difference? we know that a gas truck can kick ass, now just go out and build it rather than make the rules to bring all the other trucks down to your level!

My truck when i pull or drive on the street is about 6300lbs and it does not like getting the sled moving wants to spin and hop.

and the reason i say you might lose some diesels are. that if a guy builds a 2.8 truck on a budget (such as mine the average person) wont always have the money to have 2 or even 3 turbos for different classes. that is one thing i like about the bushing rule, even though it makes it were a 3.0 truck can run the 2.8 or 2.6 class. it is a good rule but it sucks at the same time.

Just make the 6500lb.diesels step up to the 7500lb diesel class the ISP all ready has. Then you will have 3-4 6500 gas trucks pulling in one class pretty good odds to place then.:lolly:

i thought you were going to pull the 7500 class this year, what happened? just curious.

it may be perkins, he was asking me and fulrath on sunday about turbos.

Can't get the truck to 7500 with out stripping the hell out of it.Not something I really want to do to a 06 with 16000 miles to make a 100 or so at a county fair. Not every body owns a regular cab.

I'm sure it is Darren. He was born in 74.

And this in intended toward who?

Nothing against you kevin, just the turbo doesnt have anything to do with the call. Some people are mad ant want to change the rule around because a diesel truck won after four year of trying.

LOL They went through that around here with Run What Ya Brung when Drew whooped up on the gassers.

dont blame ya a bit, they made the class a reg cab long bed only, well mostly.

it should be 8000#, dually's allowed, they could get a lot more trucks that way. cuz like you said not everyone owns a regular cab or has another truck to haul a dedicated puller that has been stripped.

where that dmax drag/puller you guys have?

We are wating to see what rules they change for next year. Then we will see.
