2012 Cummins Fuel System Wiring Diagram Wanted

The instal instructions for the AirDog system I recently installed on a 2012 said to find the blue wire with orange tracer coming from the sending unit and cut and splice into the front side of it. We did this and the pump would not run. Upon checking the circuit there was no power to it (all fuses and relays are good). So we ended up taping into a different ignition hot circuit and the pump ran perfectly. I just wanted to see what the deal with that wire is.
