24v oil leak

I got to take a good look at it today looks like it is coming out next to the throttle so would that be head gasket? Valve cover? Odor could that still be front seal

next to the throttle? in that area there could be a few spots to look at. post a pic if you can or describe the location a little better

Have to take a pic tomorrow but its right to the left of the throttle right in line with valve cover if u look straight at it its hidden behind the coolant hose that runs across the front up top right below it there is what I guess is a breather hose I'd say one inch o.d. and the oil looks like it runs down right to the right of that hose

Possibly the tappet cover gasket leaking they are know to get hard and brittle.

its right in line with the O and N on CAUTION FAN behind that radiator hose

valve cover gasket or head gasket is my guess. i hope for your sake its just a valve cover gasket.

I sure hope so too I am gonna try to steam clean it this weekend before I put on a steering stabilizer and hope to be able to take a better look at it. I do appreciate all the help IV only owned the truck for a month or so now and it's my first cummins so I'm pretty lost on it

my head gasket leaked oil right in the front there when I blew it....fan distributed it just like what you are seeing.

Check the "ledge" just under the water pump between the timing case and the block, my was leaking there and it goes everywhere there too..

I'd say head gasket, when mine when it was in the front of the engine, it didn't leak a whole lot, but enough to leave a mess on the garage floor. It leaked in the front near where you are describing. I couldn't find where it was leaking from so I let the engine idle at operating temp and then looked all over the engine and finally saw it leaking out the front.

if you wanna go a cheaper route go to carquest or similar store and get one its like 30 bucks. have done that before but dont last as long as genuine cummins parts.

Very true!

I just discovered something else. One of the big name companies that sells a "KDP" fix sends an aftermarket seal along with their $110 kit.

9 out of 10 motors with a leaking front seal need a repair sleeve to properly stop the leak.
