What is the best cam for spooling up quicker then factory rpm range idle-4K... The 181/? I've seen data in a forum somewhere it showed about 300-400 rpms quicker then stock... I have a customer with a 12v I put a s464 on with a .90 t4 it has a tuned afc I think full fuel at 25psi with 5x.013 injectors 4K 97 auto factory pump it lites around 1700 and about 10psi at 2k which isn't bad at all being an auto. I have a 24v p pump in a personal truck I'm going to be testing out my own transmission shafts and such I want something that will lite that 464 quicker if at all possible thanks in advance for the input ID hate to just buy 4 different cam profiles to test when someone else already has!!!

I have an older Colt/Hamilton 181/210 cam. It dropped about 300rpm to spool a 66/73/.80. 188/220 is supposed to spool even quicker, but you'll be leaving mileage/efficiency on the table. So it depends on what you're wanting exactly. The latter cam seems like a pretty good compromise for a play toy without needing to do flycuts.

I have a 188/220 in my Ppump 24v now. Spools the twins very fast. But don't have enough run time on it to comment further on it yet.

From Hamilton's testing their 188/220 performed the best from idle to 4200rpm.

Best performing as in air flow, street-ability, power curve for street use? I wouldn't care if I lost 50hp if the power band is where I want it and the spool time is better....
