per NADM pulling rules is a 24v p-pump truck legal? any nadm techs can answer this for me please.
here is the rule
Fuel Injection Pump: The fuel injection pump is limited to a stock-appearing, OEM engine
model-specific pump only. The use of multiple high-pressure common-rail fuel pumps is prohibited. Powerstroke engines with a single factory turbo may utilize a second HPOP.
Pumps from different years in the same engine model may be interchanged.

If you can put a charger from an 05 on a 95, why not a pump from a 98 to a 99? I'm no judge but that sounds pretty cut and dry to me. I see what you're saying though, 12v/24v

Buddy swapped a p pump onto his '98 24v and was kicked out of W/S , had to pull 2.6 class

If i'm thinking right this note allows a p-pumped 24v. 97 pump, 99 truck, still a 5.9l I6 cummins engine

that is what i thought also. just needed clearing up. still a 5.9 6bt engine model.

I may need to put it in the NADM section.

Yeah I wouldn't take my word for it I have a tendency of being wrong about 98% of the time lol. Thats what my understanding is though

If you want to get technical about it a 12 valve and a 24 valve are not the same model. A 12 valve is a 6BTA and a 24 valve is an ISB, so not the same "model."
I read read the rule as a 12 valve has to have a p pump and a 24 valve has to have a VP.

:bang Forgot about that. Now that you brought that up I'm gonna have to agree with you.

OP if I were you I would probably contact NADM and get a straight answer. When you do get an answer I would like to hear what they say.

This. The interpretation of "Engine model" is key.

all depends on who is techin. i have seen some techs. let this go, some day no. i believe it should be fine. if you can run an he351 on a 12v, why not a p-pump on a 24v. id try it if i had the money!

Ok well what if you put a 24 valve head on a 12 valve motor?

I have a p-pump 24 valve. I think a cummins is a cummins if it is a 6.7 with a p-pump or a ve truck with a p-pump they are all the same but that's just my .02

please dont quote me on this im pretty sure i read somewere that the valves would hit the pistons if you put the 24v head on a 12 valve. there are reasons nobody does it.

If you put a 24v head on a 12v it would probably be a good idea to switch your pistons to the 24v style or else you would most likely run into a few issues
