What year did the HY35's start coming out? I am pretty sure my 99 tow pig has one. I've just been to lazy to check the tag. I have a WH1C I acquired from a friend but I only have a 14cm wg'd housing for it. Been thinking of finding a 12cm for it and putting it on to help lower my egt's a lil when towing my pulling truck because I want to add a set of 50hp sticks since Coon Smile's had some misfortune and we can't arrange to trade axles anymore. I can tell my 99 has to work a little harder with 3.55's than my previous '03 did with 4.10's.

Where can I get a set of decent quaility 50/75 hp sticks without braking the bank?

Also what year did the NV5600's start coming with the 1 &3/8" input? I know 99 HO's had the 1&1/4 input. Did 2000's start out with the big shaft?

Thanks,

The big inputs were hit and miss early on - started in 99, but I believe the small inputs were phased out in 01.

I think the hy's were 01-02 only, but maybe not since you have one on a 99.

I was merely guessing On my 99 having an HY I have been to lazy to check the tag on the turbo. Figured I was posting several Q's I'd just ad another

if your 99 is a 5 speed, it has the hx35. The hy35 was put on the 00-02 autos, the manuals have the hx35.

just saw your truck is an auto, but i stil think they put the hx on the 99 autos.

I know of a 2000 that had the small input shaft ont he NV5600.

i have seen several 6spds in 2000 and they had the small input shaft. but it still had the hx35. i am real curious now.

Thanks for the info guys.....now I gotta find the OEM exh flange piece that goes between the back of the exh housing and downpipe on a stick truck so I can throw my 14cm on.

Go straight to a 100hp injector, and do a boost fooler. Best money spent there. The bigger injector adds the timing, and you'll have the gentle fueling of stock, but 100hp over factory.

Then later, you can add a comp.

Been around 24v's a little while, and for a tow rig running gauges, that's a great combo. EGT's can get warm if you keep your foot stuffed in it for a long time, but they aren't crazy.

EDIT: Do the 100 horse injector, and keep the J/A turned down when towing.

Was gonna say I have the J/A and can tow on level 2 without getting outta hand just have to keep an eye on things.

What do RV275's or a decent set of 100HP sticks go for?

Just don't go cheap on the injector.

It's money well spent. You have to have a favorite vendor by now Mark, :)

Then do a 35/40 hybrid upgrade. Great tow truck. Reliable, and not needing a boatload of supporting mods....

Hey Mark, I got your voicemail, but im at the fiance's house. haha

I actually never ran a hybrid HX35 on my truck. I rebuilt the original WH1C, but i didnt replace the cracked thrust plate because i was in a hurry, and it didnt come in the rebuild kit, so on the first test drive, it locked up and bent the shaft:bang

But, I do think a hybrid HX35/40 would be a good charger. I dont know how much work you are wanting to put into it, but the 3rd gen charger I have on my truck is pretty sweet, and if you didnt mind the fab work, it might be cheaper than going the hybrid route. If you can buy a good used one for $300, and sell your good HX35 for a couple hundred or so it might come out a better deal.

Anyways, hit me up if you need to know anything.

Eric

Specs on the 3rd gen charger are pretty much the same as a 2nd gen 35/40, so, see what gets you there with less $$.
