24V vs. 12V Pop-Off's

I talked to a guy who has built injectors for years for the diesel coummunity I told him about this new thing were they take a 12v injector spring and mod it to fit a 24v injector so it acts like a 12v injector for a ppump 24v app , He laughed for a sec and said hmm ok lets see so he took them out and saw there was a little difference but why so much to do this and its really not needed . He said he would have around 50$ in labor/parts but would charge 700+ like the rest

Who is it?

Most guys here know him he makes injectors for about 90% of the companys out there who sell them if not more .

I have bought injectors(22 sets) from most vendors and have only had good luck with 1 company. I wish all of you the best of luck with these things.
Rods.
Good talking to you. I tried to get ahold of WD about these 6x.016 injectors. Calls, and p.m.'s. No luck. I'll consider them as cores and send them to don.

i tried to contact WD about buying some 6x.016's and after numerous attempts with no reply i gave up.

Guy I talked to said he built them there. Someone told me he bought them from DDP. I honestly don't know, but I don't need bigger than the M7's I am running.

Yea good to talk to u Ron ( u are a man with experiance). As we talked u know one application may vary to another for just there way of thinking :)..I talked to wicked through PMs but he couldnt remember no more than you , I myself think there just a little big for what I need even what I have are a little to big so Im going back down next week but with a sac nozzle

I took one of these apart and compared the spring to a stock 24V. It is the same. That answers that question.

Whats your time worth? We have been converting the 24V injectors using a 12V spring for years. Ever measured the difference between the 12 and 24 springs? LOL Not just the diameter but the pressure curves?

We take rod bar stock, machine it to the correct inside and outside diameter to fit the 24V injector body. On a manual lathe. We also make internal parts to fit correctly with the 24V plate and the 12V spring. Multiply this by 6 injectors and you run yourself into 12 or more hours of machine and custom fitting work. This is before the nozzle work.

No one is going to do this for 50 bucks! Thats a joke.

Most of our conversion injectors sold for under $1300 complete with the Mach series nozzles. Ready to drop into a P pump application and work like they should.

Knock yourselves out on doing these for less money...........

Ok so the rate of injection changes with pressure from this spring so a 12v spring is softer through its curve True???

Wow! $1300 just for injectors in a ppumped 24 valve? Or ami i reading this wrong?

Thats why i asked it it would be cheaper to buy P-Pumped machs over sending in VP machs and having them converted.

$1300 vs $1950-2050, thats a huge difference. Its worth selling these and just buying new P-Pumped machs.

I have heard of peolpe ppumpin and sending there injectors back and getting them reworked for a 12V for $250

I'm starting to think it would easier to swap in a 12V instead of trying to P-pump my 53 block 24V.

What ya think that have done the 24V conversion?

It would be cheaper. Other than that a 12 valve has no benefit over 24. Also a 12 valve has more injector options.
