Well it looks as though my transfer case (rear) has started to leak. I've also got a vibration around 50 and 70 mph. By the way it's a one piece shaft that I just had balanced today, two weights were added but it made no difference. I can grab the yoke and move it up and down, not alot but it does move.

So my question is this, if that bushing is wore out could that be part of my vibration problem? Also, how difficult is it to change this bushing out, any special tools needed?

Thanks in advance everyone...ROB

We used an air chisel to carefully remove the bushing in my tailshaft housing on my 241. Installed with a bushing driver set.

I'm not sure how difficult it is to get the tail section on/off of the 271, but to get the 241 on/off on my 02 was the worst and most time consuming part of the whole project.

Thanks for the information man..I've found from working on this truck it's not the part you're changing thats hard, it's getting to the damn part thats a PITA.lol

What does everyone think about the worn bushing causing the vibration?
