I was wondering if anyone had put a set of 285 tires on there 4th gen 4500 or 5500 for that matter, instead of the 225s. I'm curious about clearance. The specific application is a 2013 4500 crew 4x2 with a stick and 4:10's. But any feedback would be good. I'm thinking they would get the revs down in the 60 mph range for some better fuel economy.

I want to go 285 also but more then likely going with 265 and a gear vender od unit.

I may end up with the 265s cause I do know they will fit and the proper width wheel for them is less expensive.

I just have a 3500 dually but I'm running 33/12.50s on it and it doesn't rub so you should have no trouble with clearance

Can you post pics of your 3500 im wanting to switch from the stock tire to either 305's or 33x12.50. Would really like to see some pics first.
