2nd hook on dodge, need advice

What about trying some taller tires? That would be a temporary fix and cheaper than regearing. I am getting ready to install 4.88 gears and get rid of my 3.54s. I want to run 4th gear on the low side.

buy me 6- 35's and ill try it lol I got 4.88s i need to put in soon

i believe the regear would help you tremindously. I agree on the pump not pushing enough fuel for those big injectors, but then again it may be too much fuel later on once you do go with a bigger pump. Most 2.6 trucks only run 5x.018 sticks. Lynn ran 10x.018 fire hose injectors first of last year and it was WAY TOO MUCH with his 13mm pump. Just something to think about. As for your clutch, I doubt its slipping at all unless its been in the truck for about 4 or 5 years and over 400 passes on the track with that slow of a gear.

If it were me I would do the gear swap to some 4.88's, run 4th low in the tranny and try to add about 100cc's more fuel through the pump and see how that helps.

The pump is what has got me stumped. It just seems like something is holding it back, but i cant figure out what. Heck on my truck I was running smaller DV's about the same size injectors and a 160 pump with the same lift pump and lines and i Had a TON more fuel that this pump is putting out.

At first I thought it might have had some small DV's in it, but we went ahead and yanked them after the injectors were put in. i thought maybe it had 181's or something in there, but they are Full Cuts.

Im hoping he gets a fuel pressure guage and hooks it up because my next thought would be that for some reason the A1000 is running low pressure.

A this point Im kinda stumped on the fuel issue, but it is WAY better than what it was when it first started out!!!!

no idea, the a1000 is just going into the pump using factory return

I run an A1000 along with the stock setup and stock return and that has supported 850 hp on #2 holding fuel pressure in the 40's.

mech is right . you really need a pump but then you are gonna overfuel that 68 with those 5x25 pigs. i would get a worked over pump or a 13mm and then drop to a 5x22 injector and run around a 74mm charger slugged to your 2.6. and i also hate 4.10 gears get some 4.88's

I agree..I also think that a1000 is holding up. What's your ccs set at?

You have a fuel issue you should have tons of smoke with 5x.025s........and I can bet it is not the A1000 I ran 1.
Brandon

its not the a1000 ive ran 1 for 4 years with a custom built 13 worked great

turn the pump back up. if you havent done that yet. it was turned just dam near all the way down when you bought it.

Stock cam and the turbine on that charger kills the top end especially over 4k. when i ran an s465 it really choked on the top end.

hey now! All I did to the pump is pull a DV to see what hes got in there! Im smart enough to not mess with a pump thats been on a bench....although this one isnt flowing like it.......

Dam, Jeff look it runs. LOL House your was told what to do with that pump. I hope you like that hoodstack we spent a night building it.
