So what kind of mileage are you 2wd guys getting, and whats ur mods? I just bought my first 2wd and would like to compare some numbers!

my 2wd with 33" general grabber uhp street tires gets around 17 city. never really checked it on trips.

tuned afc
boost elbow
k&n filter
timing( not sure where at )
messed with the plate
3kgsk
upgraded valve body
about 290hp

but my wife drives it daily and shes pretty easy on the throttle

16-17 city and 20-21 hwy if I'm easy and use the cruise at 70. It'll bump up to 23-24 if I slow down to 60.
99 qcsb
Stock everything on the engine
Adrenaline
Built billet tranny( convertor, billet Everything inside, upgraded valve body)
3.54 Dana 80

The last time I calculated fuel economy in my 95' 2wd, it calculated to just under 11 miles per gallon. I thought for sure I could average at least 12 MPG but it didn't happen and I had to walk home, first time ever running a vehicle out of fuel!

I'd be really interested in seeing what some of the top pro-mod pulling trucks are getting for fuel economy. If they can burn 1 gallon in 300 ft, that calculates to 17.6 gallons per mile.

An EMD GP38-2 locomotive with a 2 cycle roots-style blown diesel motor producing 2000HP burns 129.2 gallons per hour at full load. So this locomotive moving at 7.5 MPH has the same fuel economy as a pull truck.

i got as high as 28 in my old 98, 4/6 drop shortbed regular cab. most of the time 24 to 25 back and forth to work. hope to do better in my new truck, double overdrive.

Last time I calculated (right after TS 09 and 800HP dyno) I got 21 highway from KY to MD.

17ish usually, i have gotten up to like 20.3 or something but that was on a trip not stopping at all!

"98 12-valve CC short box with #10 plate & Bosch 300 injectors, 3.54 axle auto = 16mpg town and 20-20.5 highway at 70, and about 14-15 pulling a small TT.

'01 24v auto QC same configuration, stock except for 4" exhaust = 16-17 in town, 21-22 highway same speed, 16-17 pulling same trailer as above. My 24v averages about 1-1.5mpg better overall than 12v same configuration

A local truck that we tuned.
'95 CCLB 2wd dodge 5spd. 580rwhp 17mpg around town and 20mpg highway...of coarse it will burn way more than that if you give it pedal.

Close to 11mpg......

Doesn't help the VP has had some hard days LOL

FWIW. My 01 got 20-22 when I had a 40mi one-way commute. I haven't checked it since I don't drive it everyday now.
