Looks real good man. I don't know if I could ever build a rat rod, the rust would drive me crazy :bang

I was just thinking the same thing. Would have been a lot more simple than fabbing my bottom radiator piping.

but it does not have the a/c compressor mounts like the dodge style. it came off the motor thats in my excursion, just made sense to use the dodge style and not have to fab compressor mounts. besides the bottom hose is simple on superdutys:poke:

Watching. Love the build. Been wanting to do a older trucj bad lately

No kidding it's really moving. I wish I lived where I didn't need side or rear windows. Mine would be done instead of working on interior for months on end.

Awesome build!!!!

I have a 28 Dodge Brothers Sedan that I've been planning on adding a 12-valve to.

A long way to go, but maybe something like this...

Did you reuse the original frame rails? I've been trying to figure out if I'll beef the stock ones up or make my own frame.

Misspelling courtesy of my fat fingers...

Really nice work on your truck! I'm interested to know how the TIAL look alike external gate holds up. I thought about trying one, but was nervous I'd melt it and have parts ruining a turbo or something. LOL

Just a thought I had here, if you do have issues with oil backing up in the VC area from the primary turbo, you could just cut 2 holes weld in an aluminum 90* elbow in the VC, weld a JIC fitting on the side, have it flush up top. Bolt your turbo on just like you have it, and run a hose from the AN fitting to the oil pan with another fitting there. Another thing that may help you out over time, maybe cut out a piece of 1/4" aluminum the shape of the VC and tig it to the top of the VC for more support. I'd hate to see the VC crack out or some thing. That'd be my luck. LOL Keep it up, it's looking awesome!

Thanks guys! I've been busy with it lately. I'm soooo ready to drive this thing!!

Brandon- i have all the glass for it,just not installed yet. yours looked great last time i saw a pic of it!

Thekid760- stock rails from the back of the cab forward. 2x3 backhalf. the cage keeps it pretty stiff. it is boxed from the motormounts to the front spring mounts.

DieselWrencher- The gate has stainless moving parts so i hope it works out. The VC drain idea sounds great! Plus the valve seals will be a little more happy too.
I was thinking of making a girdle to tie all the VC bolts together with the turbo mount tied in to it. It seems pretty sturdy with all the plumbing tightened up..

the gate is a leftover from my motorcycle. not sure where it came from new..

Smokems part is the way to go i think

Its getting closer. i got the new rear tires mounted. they are American Racer dirt track compound. 29/11.5/15. i wanted something cheap that had a good look and these worked out well. $213 shipped for the pair.

All the glass is installed now. only part new is the windsheild, all the rest is stock. I have a Suncoast manual valve body on the way too. it should be here this week. I'm running a '97 47RE.

Hopefully by next weekend everything will be wired, fluids added and I can start this thing and test drive it.

here is a pic of the first time it made it outside this year..

Congrats!! It's nice when they finally roll around the shop on their own. The p-pump looks good, where did it come from?
