350 Vortec vs. 6BT

I've got a donor truck for ya if you're interested :)

92 2500, 98 12v motor, ported/studded/o-ringed head w/ 60lb valve springs, ported HTT manifold, 62mm ETT S300 turbo, freshly rebuilt 215 pump with 4k GSK and maxed/balanced barrells, DDP4 injectors, Getrag 5sp tranny w/ Valair single disk clutch, NP205, D60/D70 (D70 is fully rebuilt) w/ 3.54 gears.

truck is actually solid and straight, but not much to look at :o

What year/make/model 6BT motor should I be looking for? Looking for minimal electronics, 400HP, and simplicity.

Also, for that powerband, what manuals will hold up to the power?

94-98 will make those numbers no problem. Heck even a VE will get close and have stupid amounts of tq down low.

Finding a 4bt with a p-pump on them is similar to finding a needle in a haystack. They are out there, but go for a premium. Makes more sense to spend less money and get 50% more engine. Wouldn't a 400hp 4bt be similar to driving a 600hp 6bt in terms of drivability and powerband? Much broader powerband with a 400hp 6bt I would think.

So, If I don't drive like an idiot all the time, do you think that a stock dodge NV4500 will hold up to a 400HP 6BT?
