Basically "Binderpower" had a thread a few months ago about a turbo he bought that was dusted, pretty bad. Rounded blades, shaft movement, the works. Well...I was surfing ebay the other day and came across a used 38r for $1,200 with a $1,350 "Buy it now." (Which is the going price for a brand new one.) Turns out the scumbag bought a new wheel for it and put it on ebay listed as in excellent condition. Same User name and location.
 
Well kinda, Garrett will actually do a cartridge exchange for that turbo for about $500 on their ball bearing units.

I was under the impression the cartridge is more like $1,200. Either way, this is a busted-azz turbo, being sold for about what a new one goes for.
