39 dodge welding rig

It’s officially a full rolling chassis. Cab mounts are on, front clip gets assembled tomorrow along with the narrowing of the bed.

It had "that look" until the utility bed. You need a bad ass flat bed on it. Either way truck looks sharp man.

This makes me want to buy the 46-51 power wagon cab I came across last week.

I’m thinking you might be able to pull off that utility bed if you do it right. Nice build.

Thanks jp, way I see it if I hate the look it will be really easy to pop the bed off and build a nice flatbed instead.

I think it is badda$$.

I would go dually as I think you are gonna look to wide in the rear, like to much space inside wheel to wheel.

I would also figure out a way to smooth the transition between skinny cab and super fat girl utility bed. Personally I would do stacks big rig style tucked up in the corner against the cab and bed...If that isn't your style you could make a nice filler panel to smooth the transition.

I definitely vote against dropping the utility bed....that is a unique and useful piece to put on a custom build

Just my $.02 as ideas. I think it is an awesome project anyway you go. :Cheer:

Agree with both of these statements.

Personally not a fan of the utility bed; it's too boxy compared the the truck, but if the transition was done right it would look badass.

I think a flatbed that's .U. or .V. shaped or somewhere between with black or patina'd stacks would look killer. JMO

Whats the difference 46-51 cab and 51 to 69?:pop:

I have 69 PW cab sitting in 97 Ram 2500 rolling chassis

12valve95, I just decided on putting dual 6” aussie stacks. Think it’ll help tie in the bright and shinny wheels having polished stacks on there as well. After looking at my actual service truck (17 Pete 337) I think with the stacks it helps the transition between rounded cab and square bed.

Also, it’s way to difficult to make this thing an actual service truck here in Cali so I’ve decided on using some of the compartments for things like my air system and a bada$$ sound system. It’ll be a unique play truck for sure

A "wine glass" shape bed, like a welding bed, would look friggin awesome on that thing !

Started this project not fully knowing if I was going to be able to get it roadable but after going into the dmv I managed to get a registration for it. Pretty happy about that but I now only have 60 days to get it drivable. With that being said if anybody wants to donate parts that’d be awesome  lol

Little update: narrowed the bed and positioned it where it needs to go

Sweet!! I know they have become kind of a brodozer thing but I will always love Stacks!!

And this thing will be a perfect candidate for them...If only it had 6 22.5s with 255/70r22.5s mmmmmm

Does it need a roadworthy inspection in 60 days or what's the requirement there?
