So Im sick of trying to tune this VGT turbo. And since a decent single is 1200+, I've decided to use my old he341 and build a set of budget twins, just cant decide on a primary.

Since these old VE's aren't too big on top end power/RPMs, I wont see over 3500 and Id be happy with 400whp.

I know I don't NEED twins for that power level, but I like to fab stuff and I think it can be built cheaper and run better than a expensive single.

I only dailydrive/tow my rock crawler, which with the trailer, weighs about 5-6k.
Maybe very rarely take it to the strip.

For the 341, I will be enlarging the wastegate opening and building a spring gate set up to control it. Im running 5x14s right now and am thinking they would work well with an s366 (.91 housing, I've found them for $590.) I know these two are sized similar to BDs towing twins and are good to 5-550hp, but have read about drive pressure issues. So that opens up the other option of a s472 (72/83/1.10) found on carl's website for $725. But only thing Im worried about is lag. Which I want small twins in the first place to spool super fast and take advantage of all the low end fuel I have.

Nice primary for your app would be a s471 t4 1.23ar or a Gt4202 1.15 ar gated. Depends on your budget. Nice low end set of compounds that would fullfill your needs.

Just a 3b with a small ex. housing will work good and be cheap. Granted some of the more modern turbos will spool a little faster it's just a matter of how much you want to spend.

I would imagine a 467 would work good, a s366 might work good also with the proper housing.

Basically anything will work, but twins aren't really needed. Your HE341 should get you mid 300's-400hp. If you do want to go the twins route, I would use the 72mm. A smaller atmosphere turbo will make your HE341 spool slower.

It runs pretty hot towing with the injectors I'm running. I want to be able to run my pump maxed and not have to worry about egts. Like I said I know I don't NEED them, but I can fab, and want to build them.

The 341 as a single spooled super fast but fell on its face before 2500.

This is a 341/366 setup running 5x12s and 1:1 drive/boost up to 55psi?. Seems to spool plenty fast...

Still looking at the 471 for possible future mods..

I saw forced inductions has a 1.0 housing for a 366.

Nothing beats twins for towing! I understand your point there. A big housing s366 should work as well.

There are a lot of different housings for the s400s.
Found these 2 on Carls website.

72/96/1.32 or a 72/83/1.10

The 2nd would spool faster, correct?

Yes

That video though is of a 215 p-pump. Your running a VE right?

How come not a smaller compressor wheel s400 over the 366? Like a 466 or 464? Just curious? Like a 466 with a 1.10 or 1.0 housing with the 83 turbine ?

I'm running a VE, correct. Sent you a PM ghostman

Basically fuel is limited to 32-3500 rpms.
These pumps fuel hard down low, so I'm trying to get as much air in, as fast as possible. So top end flow is not as much of a concern since I won't constantly be turning high rpms.

I was just wondering. I had seen the post about the 472. Which the 466 with an 83 wheel and 1.0 housing would spool in according to the 32-3500 range. And maybe better suit over the 72 or 366.

I was just looking at the box BW turbos to keep the price down.

Forcedinductions has a 467/83/1.10 in a t4 or t6 foot for 839...?

Understandable.
They had the cast 467 and 466 for close to the same price with the same housing options. If I remember correctly as I looked at the exact same chargers for a single.

The T4 housings, .90 , 1.0 , 1.10 , 1.25 are $199 extra. And they only offered the 66 in the ET-R wheel which is $1019 plus the $199 for the T4 housing. And $839 plus $199 for the cast 67.

So I guess then cost wise my options are the .91 366 or the 72/83/1.10.

I saw a thread where Mr.Bob was building a 351/366 set up, but never reported back on it.

Those prices are through FI though. Its possible a vendor on here might be able to do a better price. FI is just easy to get quick prices from.
