45 psi too much Fuel pressure?

I wanted to run the FASS 180 pump and filters, so would I need the regulator after the IP with that? Can I adjust the pressure of the FASS?

Aeromotive Bypass style regulators are not recommended when utilizing a FASS 45psi unit. It will wreak havoc with the internal regulator in the pump housing. This is per Dan at FASS.
Shimming of the stock overflow valve has been done with good results though.

Could you just remove and plug the return line when running an internally regulated fuel pump like the FASS? I wouldn't think the FASS internal regulator would do much good if the overflow valve was set to open at a lower pressure than what the pump was set to regulate to.

im pretty sure you want fuel circulating through the pump so you dont stick a plunger.

If the FASS is regulated at 60# then would you even need an overflow or regulator?

If you would like to dead-head the fuel flow at the injection pump feel free, circulating flow keeps the fuel temperature lower. Fuel pressure keeps the plunger from contacting the barrel.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. I figured that it may be temperature related but was curious since no mention to it was made.
