47re front band removal

Anyone tried or been able to replace front band with just a valve body and pan removal? Leaving the Trans in truck?

You can sometimes roll a band in if you grind on the apply tabs of the band, they make a roll in band but it doesn't hold up to the force of a high pressure valve body.

So you can put in a billet band if you grind a bit

No, the only band that stands a chance of being rolled in is a Flex band, there's no possible way to get a rigid band rolled in. Rolling a band in takes about as long as pulling the transmission and doing it right.
