47re rear cooler line cracked? sonnax fix kit help???

Has anyone used this kit to repair their 47rh/re?

I installed a tranny for a local guy and came to find we had cracked the housing. Is there any easy way of attempting this. I dont really want to take the trans back out and definetly not apart.

How can I keep shavings out of the port?

any pointers on how to keep it all clean while i tap it? and do i have to drill anything? The instructions dont mention any drilling!
