47rfe HELP-HELP...no overdrive .....AGAIN

what pin do i need the 12v at? i think pin 2 on mine has power but its not a full 12 closer to 5 id say

at what pin tho? im getting voltage on number 2 at the trans but its weak...not much at all maybe 5v

Pin 1 is 12V for Gov solenoid, LU, and OD
Pin 2 is 5v, is for gov pressure tansducer and temp

thank you soooo much zstroken... i have no power at all at number 1 key on engine off.....I love the help i get from this site..

You need 12V on it when you turn the key to the on position. If not troubleshoot the relay, or swap it if you have one handy. Sometime a jumper is put in in place of the relay.

swapped it with another relay no change i did notice when i pull the relay i only have power at the very bottom connector(the pin closet to fender) can i run a jumper wire to the plug and up to the relay? no power at pin 1 key on engine off....constant 12v at 1 relay position key off.....please correct me if im mistaken but since the number 1 pin powers gov solenoid wouldnt there be other shifting issues first through third? truck shift1-2-3 awsomejust no overdrive and i beleive the converter is locking..... thx again for the help

Yes if your shifting fine, then you shouldn't be having 12V issues, if the convertor is locking that would confirm it as well. Have you put a gage on the OD port?

thats my next step... im wondering now why i dont have 12v at number 1. for grins i by-passed it w a jumper wire and still the same..... but now after this test drive the p 0753 code didnt return(w jumper to pin 1) im kind of at a loss... i dont have gauge that high right now kinda stuck 180miles away from home and dont wana drive it back at 40...... at 55 im turning almost 2500 rpms... so ive been leaving it sit....

when in 3rd if i click the o/d button the rpms drop about 100 is that tc lock up? and cruising if i mash it ... it seems to take off w a small downshift this is very strange...

Pin 1 to 5 on the VB should read about 5 ohms. 1 to 6 and 1 to 7 should read 33 ohms.

That would just check the wiring in the VB. You could still have a solenoid issue. Yes it sounds like the problem is only with the OD.

These are sometimes more helpful than a wiring schematic to help understand the trans plug.

hey thank you very much guys.... really helpfull info. my problem is i dont have power at number 1 pin but truck shifts fine 1st thruogh 3rd. im totally confused ... the pics are extremely helpfull. im going try to jump the relay and put my test o/d switch on i dint jump the ralay before hand when i tried this.
if o/d is blown will the o/d unit of a 47rh work? i have one brand new for another project i could put in

ok.....so wired your diagram it still doesnt shift o/d it does nothing so would that still be leaning towards electronic?wouldnt it at least try to shift.? i guess my next step is a gauge what pressure should i see?

using Csnyders diagram i can lock the converter manually in 2nd and its self locking in 3rd.. leads me to beleive my solenoid is good and the problem lies within>>>>>dun dun dun.... not to happy about that especially since the builder is in TX and a warranty 1600 miles away aint guna do me jack? so next question is... will the 47rh o/d section work on this truck?and what pressure should i see out of o/d port thanks alot fellas

check the pressure in the OD port. If its not applying any pressure you need a seal which is easy to put in.
