I know its not a diesel but i'm sure this will still get some of you guys blood flowing!

First off huge thanks to Goodwin Competition!! Great to work with and when I went to their shop I was treated beyond nice!! It was like the whole shop knew who I was already and was excited to see me off with my "new" engine.

So here is a little more exact info on the engine.

643ci
5inch Donovon custom water block.
5 inch pro mod heads. Custom by Goodwin.
2 Quick Fuel Carbs,
HRE custom intake
60 mm cam. over inch lift.
Isky EZ roll .937 keyed lifters.
Diamond pistons. 4.768 Bore
Bryant billet crank 4.5 stroke.
R&R 5 stage dry sump
Moroso 4 vane Pro mod vacuum pump.

Todd Goodwin set this engine up far from "set to kill". He set the cam and timing so I can go a complete season without changing valve springs and the engine is far from the edge.

He was pretty confident this engine the way its set up now will compete well against anything out there unless I go up against one of the newest 70k+$ engines.

Here is one of the dyno sheets I "can" show you.

I can also tell you by bumping up the timing 3 degrees (to 33) the engine perks up 30hp.

Also if I feel the need for more power there is a cam waiting for me which is closer to what his newest Hemi's run. This would put the engine "set to kill" and bring the hp up past the 1500hp mark. In doing that though valve springs would have to be changed every 10-12 runs SO for my first season with a beast like this i'm happy right where it is!!!!

This sheet was done on a DTS dyno.

Looks like 7k rpms might be the sweet spot...

Although loud, it looks pretty. :)

pretty figgen BAD AZZ!!!!! without a doubt thats very cool.. congrats..

Very nice!

I've dealt with several alcohol forced induction Aluminum Hemi's but never with the newer style heads or crank triggers (all the ones I've dealt with were straight plug with mechanically driven mags). Definitely nice power plants.

Goodwin really knows what they are doing. You will be very happy with it I'm sure. That's pretty awesome that a 4.5" stroke motor likes to run up around 8500rpm!!

Seen a couple of thier Super Charged engines last night at the KY invitational in Rupp Arena. Both made a heck of a show. Most of the others in the Class were Eddy Carry's "Billet 10 Liter" engines.

Why drop the port injection vs a carb setup?? I'm sure the builder wanted the carbs.. but figured there was a reason...

Very nice ride....

The reason as I understand it is when an engine is getting into the high 8000's rpms a mechanical achy injection is putting to much alcohol into the ports. Even with High speed bypasses the alcohol is taking up to much room in the port not letting enough air getting into the cylinder.

Since we are able to use less Gas at the same RPM's it allows more air to go through the ports keeping a better balance of fuel to air at higher RPM's.

A lot use the alcohol as a cooling method because of poor water passages in their engines. The one I've got has a very efficient cooling system and I was told I will not see a big change of water temp from the start to finish of the run.
