5.9 "12v/VP Rods": Cryo'ed, Peen'ed, Balanced and polished - $1200

Just curious... Y wouldn't u use these in a cr?


scientific reason unknown. its gota be a combo of the high pressure fuel system and dynamic timing at low rpm's and in my case some awesome turbos making good lowend boost easily bend rods.


Some say if you run a bigger-lazier single turbo the rod hold up better

Makes sense... I would like to do rods in my 2.5 truck over winter but don't realy want to shell out the big bucks on billet ones
 
I could never figure out why we cryo, shot peen, etc a rod(the forged cummins rods, not the cracked cap newer ones) that doesn't break, but bends in most of its failure modes. My simple understanding of both of these processes are to help relieve the chances of cracking.
