6.0 noise (turbo whistle)

I know this is old news, but what makes these so loud? Is it the fact that it is VGT, or is it the exhaust wheel itself? I've heard a few 6.7 cummins straight piped and they don't have the whistle like the 6.0
From everything I've read, seems like it's just the 03 turbo that is like that. But "specifically" what is it that does it?

Youve got the right idea. Its the VGT mixed with a 10 vane exhaust wheel on the 03s.

Yeah i believe the 03 has 10, 04 has 12 and 05 has 15 i believe.. they sound pretty wicked tho:ft:
My motherinlaw has an 03 and she wont let me trade her turbo's lol:bow:
